I just got back from one of the best vacations of my life! If you've never been to Lake Tahoe, come along and live vicariously through me! We had so much fun!

My family and Lake Tahoe have quite a history. My Grandparents fell in love with Lake Tahoe when they went their for their first anniversary back in 1957.

They didn't go back until my Mom was a teenager, but since then my Aunt Annie says she's been about 40 times!! I haven't been since I was 8 years old, but I absolutely fell in love with this vacation hot spot, so I'll be going back! 17 of us gathered together; aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents for nearly a week to play and bask in the sun.

Lake Tahoe is only a 7 1/2 hour drive from Boise, although I must admit it is the most boring drive ever! You can't even get cell service for 1/2 the time! The Lake straddles Nevada and California and we stayed on the South Side of Lake Tahoe, right on the border between Cali and Nevada.

Tahoe has everything. Amazing beaches, gambling and a fun night life, skiing in the winter, awesome trails for biking, hiking, and horse back riding. We did almost it all!

This was my journey through Lake Tahoe

Day 1: We played at the beach and gathered together to eat pizza and celebrate my aunt and my daughter's birthday!

Day 2: More beach play! We kayaked, built sand castles, and ate way too much food!

Day 3: We went to Zephyr Cove beach. It was completely different than the first beach we visited off of Lakeland Village in South Lake Tahoe. The waves rolled in and I literally felt like I was at the ocean! My kids and I also took an amazing trail ride on horses that gave us an incredible view of the lake!

Day 4: We visited Sand Harbor beach. This was my favorite spot! The water was crystal clear, there were lots of cool rocks to jump off of, the kids searched for craw dads, and we paddle boarded and kayaked to our hearts content.

Day 5: I went parasailing for the first time. It was incredible! I'm afraid of heights, but the ride was so smooth that it didn't bug me at all. I literally felt like a bird and the views were breathtaking! After parasailing we went on a bike ride through the forest and stopped at this quaint little ice-cream shop that had the biggest "kid sized" cones I've ever seen!

Day 6: We took the kids fishing at Tahoe Trout Farm. They caught 4 trout and were so excited to real them in. They've never caught "big fish" like that!

If you ever have the chance to go to Lake Tahoe, go! I can't wait to go back, but I must admit, as they say... "there's no place like home!"
