My Great-Grandpa was inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame this weekend. Here's his story.

My Great Grandpa, Guy Wesley Cash Sr.,  passed away when I was 4 years old. I briefly remember him. Even more I remember hearing about his cowboy days. Seeing the bronze statue of him riding a bucking bronco on top of my Great-Grandma's television set and the prize watch he won at The Calgary Stampede of 1939 that went missing and then found more than 50 years later.

I remember the story of how Helen Keller asked to touch my Grandfathers face because she wanted to know what a "real cowboy's" face felt like.

Grandpa specialized in saddle bronc riding and bulldogging and won rodeos all over Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and Montana as well as at the Boston Garden's, Chicago, and Madison Square Garden.

This weekend he was inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame and I couldn't be more proud to be his Granddaughter. Not just because of the great rodeo man he was but because he treated my Grandma like gold. He married her when she was a young single mother and loved her and her son dearly until the day he died in 1985.

I know he watches over us and maybe he's still riding those bronco's in the sky.
