Here's my favorite brownie recipe. I swear you'll never make "box brownies" ever again!

My daughter wanted to make brownies tonight. I'm not going to lie, these brownies are a bit of a labor of love. My Mama gave me the recipe, and I don't even know where she got it from, but if I'm going to make brownies these are the only ones I will make. They are so stinkin' good!!

Carly's Best Brownies

  • 1 1/2 sticks of butter
  • 8 oz. of chopped semi-sweet baking chocolate
  • 4 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. chocolate chips

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

Chop chocolate and butter. Place chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl and place above simmering water in a saucepan. Stir until butter and chocolate are melted.

Crack eggs in a separate bowl and beat with an electric mixer for about 4 minutes. Beat in the sugar and vanilla until combined. Gradually stir in the chocolate/butter mixture that has been slightly cooled, so as not to cook the eggs.

Fold in the flour and salt with a spatula.

Pour mixture into a square baking pan that is either lined with parchment paper or sprayed well with cooking spray.

Spread chocolate chops on top.

Bake at 350 degrees. If it is an 8X8 pan bake for 40-45 minutes. For a 9X9 pan bake 25-30 minutes.

Enjoy!!
