BSU’s Allie Ostrander Is Only 2nd Woman To Win Back-To-Back Championships

The NCAA Track and Field Championships always take place in Eugene, Oregon and this year's results look very similar to last year with a BSU Bronco coming out on top in the Women's Steeplechase.

Allie Ostrander has now brought Boise the gold in her freshman and sophomore years.  She took first this year by a good six seconds making her only the 2nd woman ever to repeat as an NCAA back-to-back champion in this event.  The only other woman to do this was Jenny Barringer (Simpson), who won in 2008 and 2009 while running for Colorado.

KTVB reports that Ostrander grew up in the small area of Kenai, Alaska and committed to the Boise State program a few years ago because of the coaching, school, surrounding area, and most of all she knew that she fit in.  She knew that she could be herself and she could thrive in the city of Boise.  Allie's not only thriving, she's destroying her competition every time she laces up those cleats.

Boise State University has now won a total of 13 national titles and Ostrander has two of them in only her 2nd year now of competing for the school.  We're excited to see what the future holds for this young lady and the BSU track and field program.  Their offseason training now begins for the 2018 season.
