This man had his name along with his school name drug through the mud for a long time and he's finally been found innocent of those ear biting charges.

Former BSU football player, Dereck Boles was facing up to 14 years in jail if convicted for a felony mayhem charge that stated he bit off a piece of a teammate's ear.  Boles professed his innocence over and over and now it's official.  Earlier today the courts found him not guilty.

The altercation took place at a house party on East Raintree Drive just over a year ago.  Boles was accused of assaulting his teammate, Chancellor James who was playing safety for the Broncos.  A number of BSU players testified in court including quarterback Brett Rypien, linebacker Ben Weaver, tight end Jake Roh, wide receiver A.J. Richardson, defensive end Sam McCaskill, wide receiver Chaz Anderson, and safety Dylan Sumner.
