Last nights freak storm contributed to a teen being hit by a car on the Boise connector.

38 year old Nicole D. Herrick of Boise was driving during last nights rain storm at about 8:30 p.m. when she got onto the Westbound 1-84 connector out of downtown and accidentally hit a juvenile on the side of the road.

Luckily the child is going to be just fine despite being knocked to the ground. The teen was standing outside with an adult because their car had broken down in the storm.

Obviously this story could have ended so much worse. Herrick has been charged with driving speeds that were inappropriate for the road conditions, but she isn't expected to be charged with any other crime.

According to the Idaho Statesman, the teen was checked out at the hospital, but it was confirmed that no significant injuries occurred because of the accident.

If you were re-directed or caught up in traffic in the area last night, its most likely because the incident shut down the Westbound lanes for more than an hour.

We're just glad everyone is going to be o.k..
