34 year old Gavin Haley has plead guilty to inattentive driving and killing 53 year old Victor Haskell, but Haley will likely only spend 3 days behind bars.

The accident happened back on September 26, 2013 just before midnight at the intersection of 30th and State. Haskell was riding his bike home from work when Haley accidentally hit him with his Land Rover.

Haskell was thrown into a small construction pit where he died and although Haley got out of his vehicle when he thought he may have hit something, he eventually got back in his vehicle and drove away.

Haskell's body was found the next morning and Haley turned himself in.

According to KTVB, the charge has been reduced from misdemeanor vehicular man slaughter to inattentive driving and although Haley was sentenced to 90 days in jail, he's likely only going to spend 3 days behind bars because of credit for time served, work release, and suspended time. Haley has also been ordered to pay $457.50 for fines and court costs and he'll spend 2 years on unsupervised probation.

Haley's attorney says that rain, darkness, construction, and a lack of lights on Haskell's bike all contributed to the crash.
