A 50-unit affordable housing project in Boise is upsetting some nearby neighbors. Here's why.

According to KTVB, some residents are concerned that 50 apartments will bring too many people into too small of an area, they are also concerned about the increase in traffic and noise.

On the flip side, low-income housing is hard to come by in Boise and the apartments are needed.

The Boise/ ADA County Housing Authority has owned the property along Whitewater Park Blvd across from the new Esther Simplot Park since 2001 and they feel that now is the right time to put up the Sandhill Crane Apartments.

The one to four bedroom units will be priced based on family size and income. A one bedroom apartment for someone who makes about $15,000 a year would be about $290, while a 4 bedroom apartment for a family who makes $36,000 would be about $750.

Would you be upset if these apartments came to your neighborhood? Let us know what you think!
