One of the first things I heard about the Boise area is that there is incredible food here, so from the day we landed here Rick and I have set out to try some of the hot spots. We both agree that the restaurants here are top notch! Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is usually really cool and there are lots of places you can't find anywhere else.

Here's what we've tried so far.

Steve's Cafe in Meridian: We had the fish and chips, plus we tried the Reuben, and this really yummy raspberry french toast creation. The food did not disappoint, but what really impressed us was how they connected with their customers. The chef's baby was hanging on the server's hip. It was a very cool family friendly place I can't wait to take my kids to.

Idaho Pizza Company off of Broadway: Super friendly staff and very good food. We got the salad bar and cheesy garlic bread to go, but next time we're going for the Habenero Pizza!

Boise Fry Company: Who knew there were so many choices when it came to burgers and fries?! We had the purple potatoes and the elk burgers and both of us can't wait to go back!

Gino's Italian Ristorante in Meridian: Traditional Italian food at its finest. I ordered the Pollo Maria, which felt healthy and refreshing. It was really good, but Rick ordered the baked ziti and I was secretly craving all of his cheese!

Tavern at Bowen Crossing: We stumbled upon this place while looking for the Boise Fry Company. Rick had some of the best salmon I've ever tasted and I had a salmon burger that had this sauce that I could have eaten from a spoon. So good!

Juniper on 8th Street: This is the first place we tried, because my aunt recommended it. Really cool place to take a date and the party upstairs seemed to be having a really good time. Rick said his steak was one of the best he's ever had.

Anywhere else you think we should try?
