Boise Firefighters Give

Our boys in the Boise Fire Department do it over and over again.  I guess I should say men and women!  There's a lot of extraordinary women taking care of business for us too.  These guys do it all.  When they're not putting their butts on the line, they're raising money, in some very cool ways!

Our very own firefighters have been growing giant pumpkins for who knows how long now for a big fundraiser that benefits the Idaho Fallen Firefighters Foundation.  On Saturday... more than 1,400 pumpkins were given away to children across Treasure Valley.  Through donations over $6,000 was raised.

So we have happy kids with their pumpkins ready for carving and maybe, if they're lucky, a little pumpkin pie from mama, and our Fallen Firefighters Foundation is blessed with a little extra cash.

My hat's off to all the men and women who fight and protect and serve.  I have a special place in my heart for those that paid the ultimate sacrifice.  For you... for me... for our children!
