Evacuations are not yet in place but residents in the area of the Boise Foothills near Simplot Hill and Cartwright Road are getting notifications to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

The Boise Police Department is going door to door alerting residents to the fire.  KTVB broke the story this morning just after 10 o'clock and yes, this fire is somewhat small at the present time but the Boise Fire and the Bureau of Land Management say all that can change in seconds if winds pick up.

Right now this brush fire has burned just over 30 acres and at least one helicopter and one small plane are being used to perform water and retardant drops.  Officials are asking people to stay away from this area until the fire is contained.  We'll keep you posted on more details as they come in
