Tutu's, tap shoes, glitz, and glam. If your daughter wants to dance there are lots of choices. Here's your guide to dance in the Treasure Valley.

It's recital week for my daughter Jocelyn. She takes ballet, jazz, and tap at Echo School of Dance. It was tough transitioning from a dance studio in Utah that she had been with for 3 years to finding a new dance company in Idaho, but I've been pleased with Echo School of Dance. For $65/ month she goes to class once a week for 75 minutes. Class size is about 8-10 girls and as they get older there are specific ballet, tap, and jazz classes.

A mother on my son's baseball team is a big fan of Dance Unlimited. Her daughter is on a competition dance team there and in her opinion it's the best of the best. If your daughter is more serious about dance or interested in competing, you may want to check out Dance Unlimited.

Other dance studios in the Treasure Valley are

Impact Dance Studio: They offer competition classes

Studio C Academy of Dance: Ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and lyrical

Ballet Idaho and Academy: Check out there summer program

Heirloom Dance Studio: They teach ballroom, Latin, and swing dancing and it appears they cater more to adults. Private lessons are available.
