Barbie gets Some Curves

I never thought I'd see the day when Barbie would be much different than she was since the day I got my first one as a little girl.  I used to love playing Barbie and in all fairness I don't think it really bothered me what her size was.  However looking back and taking into consideration of the pressure us girls put on ourselves to look "perfect" maybe it did bug me deep down.  

Barbie maker Mattel will make three new types of barbie.  Petite, Curvy and Tall barbie.  Statistics show that more than 90 percent of girls in the US own a barbie in part due to their affordability.   However, that said....Mattel is dealing with the new standard of body acceptance and bodies in America as we know aren't all the same.  Bodies in America have never have been one size and I think it's great that barbie is taking a more realistic approach to their choices for kids.  If you'd like to see all the new barbies that Mattel is coming out with click here.
