They don't call it the 100 Deadly Days of Summer for nothing. Please pay attention, slow down, and buckle up. This crash has left a Nampa woman dead and six children are injured.

30-year-old Kristine Stapleton of Nampa was driving along Banks-Lowman Road turning onto I-55 when she failed to yield to traffic and was hit by a van towing a U-haul trailer.  Inside the van were a dozen children. According to KTVB, the kids were part of a youth rafting trip. Luckily, the kids were all wearing seatbelts, and only received minor injuries, but Kristine Stapleton was not so lucky and died at the scene.

One factor that may have played a role in this crash is that there is only a stop sign along Banks-Lowman and not a traffic light.

As travel gets busier through the summer months we can not stress enough to please be extra cautious.

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who knew and loved Kristine.
