You could have money coming your way if you fit this bill!

 

The Idaho Property Tax Reduction Program is available to at least 55,000 Idahoans.

 

It's open to low income seniors, widows, widowers, the disabled, and those who fit the following criteria. Do you fit the bill and you're not taking advantage of it?

 

Under the program property taxes are reduced by up to $1,320. There is no repayment that will ever occur because they are grants from the state.

 

To qualify for the program you can't make more than

$29,640

You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident and fit one of the following categories as of January 1, 2017.

  • blind
  • 65 or older
  • widow or (widower)
  • former prisoner of war or hostage
  • disabled as per the social security administration, railroad retirement board, federal civil service, a public employee retirement system not covered by these agencies, or by veterans affairs.
  • father or motherless child under 18

An application for property tax reduction can be found HERE and applications must be turned in by April 18, 2017.
