2-Year-Old Dies in Shooting After Being Rushed to Boise Hospital

Our hearts are broken this morning after learning of the shooting death of a 2-year-old boy from Baker City, Oregon. 

It happened about 11:15 a.m. yesterday on Birch Street in Baker City according to KTVB.

Liam Mankins was airlifted to a hospital here in Boise but died from his injury at 1:43 p.m. on Sunday.

So far it is unclear if the little boy accidentally shot himself or if he was shot by someone else.

His parents were home at the time and of course, a full-blown investigation is underway by the Baker County Major Crime Team.

An autopsy will be performed on little Liam today here in Boise.

As a mother, this story is absolutely gut-wrenching. A little life taken in such a horrible way.  Please keep everyone who loved Liam in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days and we will keep you posted as details from the investigation develop.
