19 year old Taylor Kemp has been cited for setting off Roman Candles that started the 2,600 acre Table Rock Fire.

According to KTVB, Kemp has told the ADA County Sheriff's Office that wind knocked over his fireworks and started some dry grass on fire, June 29th.

Kemp originally told police he was a witness to the incident, but did not admit that he accidentally set the fire.

Kemp allegedly lied to police telling them that some "clearly wasted" teenagers had started the blaze before taking off and that he with knowledge as a volunteer firefighter sprung into action and tried to put the fire out after calling the fire department.

After a second interview in late August, Kemp admitted to starting the blaze.

The 19 year old has been charged with violating the ADA County Fireworks Code. It's a misdemeanor that is punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $1000 fine.

Yesterday Kemp told KTVB he was innocent and pressured into admitting guilt.

The city is seeking restitution in the amount of $150,000 plus the Bureau of Land Management's firefighting expenses, which are close to $250,000
