The field, the team, the school, and our whole community is a little lonelier now.  A freshman softball player at Rocky Mountain High School died on Friday afternoon.

15-year-old Kathyrn Marshall played varsity softball for the Grizzlies which is a big deal for a freshman in high school.  A beautiful, young woman with a huge future in front of her and now the entire Treasure Valley is mourning her death.

We still don't know the cause of death or circumstances.  We do know that she was admitted to the hospital on Friday morning and then was gone just a few hours later.  The focus right now is on healing for her family, her teammates, and the hundreds of others who knew her.

Those close to her called her Kate.  In remembrance of Kate $1 wristbands are being sold at the high school store with all the proceeds going to the Marshall family.  A special vigil will be held at 9 o'clock tonight on the Rocky Mountain High softball field.  Everyone is invited.
