Wyoming Loses – Door Opening For BSU

What does Wyoming's loss last night mean?  Who's the front runner for the Mountain West Conference Championship now?  How big are BSU's chances?

Wyoming made one of the most spectacular catches of the season last night to send their game into overtime.  Lucky for BSU fans, that's about as far as they'd go.  The UNLV Runnin' Rebels were a big dog in this game but came up with 69 points to hand Wyoming their first conference loss.

This does "NOT" give BSU the lead in the MWC Mountain Division.  Yes, we only have one loss on the season and Wyoming has three.  Yes, we're ranked in the Top 25 and nobody else in the MWC is.  Yes, we just blew the socks off Hawaii on their home turf.  But Wyoming maintains the lead on BSU because they beat us.  Technically we're tied in the MWC now with one loss a piece and Wyoming owns that head to head tie breaker.  So what need s to happen for BSU to take over?

BSU cannot have another loss.  They need to take care of business from here on out.  Then... Wyoming vs New Mexico looks like a big game for Bronco fans.  New Mexico is a solid team and has only lost to BSU in the MWC.  If New Mexico beats Wyoming, giving them their 2nd loss in the conference, BSU takes that top spot.
