While many may have the day off today, hopefully you will take some time to think about the significance of this holiday.  Today we honor the memory of a man who changed the country and the world in so many ways forever.  While at times with the world being in turmoil as it can be, it may be difficult to see the progress that has been made.  But when you take that moment to consider where we are now versus where we once were, the advancements that have been made in regards to race relations, and the opportunities that so many now have that not too long ago in this country simply wouldn't have been possible, all due to their ethnic background and color of their skin..........I think it becomes very obvious as to why we take this day to honor this man.

Dr. King was I feel without a doubt one of the greatest orators this country has ever seen.  The list of poignant and important quotes made by him is a long list indeed.  However, I'd like to share with you my all time favorite MLK quote:

"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."

I remember hearing that for the first time at a time in my life and career when let's just say.......I really needed a reminder to keep going with what I was pursuing.  And of course, the challenges I was trying to overcome were NOTHING compared to what Dr. King and so many others in this country were facing.  But still, I think it goes to show how when you, as I keep saying, TAKE THAT TIME to learn about this man you can find something that will help you along with whatever your journey may be.  This is why he is so honored and revered not just here in America, but around the world.
