I'm always in awe of anyone who can do an Ironman. Unfortunately, this Iron Man ended in tragedy.

A 52 year old woman from Montana was participating in the Ironman Coeur d'Alene on Sunday when she was hit by an event support vehicle.

Crystal O'Conner of Bozeman was riding the 112 mile bike portion of the race at about 1 p.m. on Sunday when she was hit and transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Luckily her condition has been upgraded to fair, although we don't currently know the extent of her injuries. According to Missoulian.com the driver of the support vehicle was not injured and the incident is being investigated.

Out thoughts and prayers are with Crystal and her family and congratulations to everyone who participated in the Ironman.
