People are going nuts because Taylor Swift has a new song.  Those of us who are not on the T-train are referred to as haters.  I'm not a hater.  But I've had enough.

I get it.  People love Taylor Swift.  She has a squeaky-clean image.  She's a good girl-power role model for kids.  She's a force of nature making music, acting, etc. etc.

In fact, my 8 year old daughter loves Taylor. She wears Taylor shirts. Listens to Taylor's music.  Watches Taylor's videos.  But as the father who hears it all. the. time. I must say it's very repetitive.  This album is supposed to be a big musical growth for her.  From the first single, I just don't hear it. It's a predictable pop song and what we've come to expect from her.

Taylor has become the musical equivalent in my home of "Frozen."  It's delightful at first.  But the 9,000th time you hear "Let It Go" you really start to crave something different.

Taylor is a star, no question.  But for a change of pace, I'd like to hear her return to a sound that initially made her a star in the first place -- Country.  It's not that I don't like Taylor, I just expect better from her.

But what do I know? I'm just a hater.
