We talked to Rick & Carly a little bit on Tuesday morning, but we can't wait to get the new WOW Country morning team to Boise! Before they hit the airwaves on Monday, August 17th, here's a little bit about them:

Rick

Born and raised in San Diego, California, Rick was dubbed the "Country Surfer" by his buddies.  There was one country station in San Diego and when he wasn't listening to that, he was on his board catching waves.

Rick's been hitting the airwaves for 20 years now with just about every station and every format you can think of... but Country is his true love and that's where he's been for the past 15 years.  Most of that time has been in Salt Lake City, Utah where he loved to camp, hike, snowboard, but most of all spend time with his family.  He's married with 4 beautiful daughters and one handsome son.  Oh... and his dog Cali too.  She's a mini Pomeranian.

Rick loves coaching youth soccer, playing poker, and he's a huge movie guy.  You'll often see him at the theaters by himself because he wants to see everything and nobody else does.  His true passion? Playing radio.  "I can't believe they pay me to do this.  Wow 104.3 has welcomed me and my family with open arms.  So excited to make Boise my new home.  This city is everything everyone ever told me it was!"

Carly

Carly grew up around country music and remembers listening to it ever since she was a little girl in the back of her parent's van! She always told people she didn't like that "twangy stuff," but truth be told she was often caught singing along to her favorites, Tim McGraw's "Don't Take the Girl" and Garth Brook's "Unanswered Prayers." These days, country music has her heart.

Carly was born and raised just south of Salt Lake City, but some of her favorite childhood memories are visiting her Dad's hometown of Pocatello and visiting her great-grandparents in Grangeville every Thanksgiving.

Carly caught the radio bug during her Senior year at the University of Utah. She had always wanted to be a TV news reporter, but quickly found that radio is so much more fun. She's been playing radio for the last 10 years and can't believe she gets paid to talk about celebrities and laugh with her best friend all morning!

In her spare time Carly loves to cook, run short distances, shop, and do yoga. Last October she had two steel rods and 28 screws placed in her spine to correct her scoliosis, so downward dog is a little difficult, but she has Perfect posture!

The greatest joys in Carly's life are her two children Boston & Jocelyn who are 9 and 7 years old.

She is so excited to join the WOW team and to make Idaho her new home!
