Hurricane Irma has finally landed and it's every bit as bad as expected.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who've sat tight behind closed doors hoping, waiting, and praying this thing blows through without losing everything.  That includes lives.

So far at least 20 people are reported dead and that number will most likely climb in the aftermath when experts and authorities can hit the streets searching for those in need.  Currently the hurricane is about 5 miles north of Maples and 30 miles south of Fort Meyers, Florida.  Winds have been reported as hitting over 150 miles per hour but recently have dropped to 110 miles per hour.

The worst of Hurricane Irma is predicted to hit the west coast of Florida.  It's predicted to destroy different parts of Florida well into Monday evening.  This is the worst hurricane to hit Florida since Hurricane Andrew back in 1992.

About 6.3 million people have been ordered to evacuate which is a quarter of the Florida population.  Curfews and safety precautions have been taken in any part of Florida that is or will be affected by Hurricane Irma.  Over 320 shelters are in operation at the moment.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.  Be safe!
