Boise Fire Department has deemed the Boise River hazardous and dangerous due to rising water flows.

The Bureau of Reclamation says a flow rate of 7,000 CFS is considered flood-staged level.  The Boise River is at 5,000 CFS right now.  Those venturing into the river and needing assistance to get out will be fined by the Boise Fire Department.

The river is cold, deep, and fast.  Simply put, it isn't safe.  That means no wading, boating, swimming, rafting, or any other activities.  The Boise Parks and Recreation has posted signs along the river to warn the public of the hazardous conditions.  A section of the Greenbelt in Southeast Boise near Parkcenter Blvd has been closed because of the high water.
