Only 23 schools in the country have at least two selections for The Maxwell Award and Boise State is one of them.

BSU quarterback Brett Rypien and running back Jeremy McNichols are on the watch list for the 80th annual Maxwell Award along with 88 other players around the country.

Rypien's first season as a quarterback landed him the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year award in 2015.  He was also named to the all-conference first team after throwing 3,353 yards.

McNichols started 12 games for the Broncos and led the Mountain West Conference in scoring (156 points), touchdowns (26), and rushing touchdowns (20).  He was tied for 2nd in the nation in the first two categories.
