If you've ever wanted to just get up off the couch, walk outside and into something that oozes greatness, something bigger than all of us, something that makes you feel like you've never felt before, you CAN.  In two days the Treasure Valley Down Syndrome Association Buddy Walk kicks off again.  I've never met better people.  I've never seen such unity, magic, love, and families that all come together as one family on one special day to celebrate these beautiful young souls that live right here in our very own Treasure Valley.

The video below is a taste of what Carly and I experienced last year.  We're lucky enough to host this event every year.

The WOW COUNTRY 104.3 tent will up with FREE candy and lots of fun as things kick off from Capitol Park in downtown Boise.  This year's a little different.  The walk kicks off at 11 a.m. from Capitol Park and then loops around so that it ends in exactly the same place.  The walk itself is only about 15 or 20 minutes so it's very short and easy.  We'll have the following there at Capitol Park to keep the kids occupied.

  • Live Entertainment
  • Raffles
  • Games
  • Prizes
  • Food
  • Bounce Houses
  • Vendor Row
  • Merchandise

The Buddy Walk celebrates Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and promotes acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to nearly 300 walks planned for 2018 worldwide.

If you haven't registered yet you'll probably want to just show up to Capitol Park about 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 13th.  The walk is only two days away so signing up online may not be an option but you can check out the TVDSA Buddy Walk website HERE.

Registration and Will Call pickup starts at 9 o'clock and ends at 10:30.  If you have any questions please contact Barbara Hiler at buddywalk@idahodownsyndrome.org.
