To My Special Veteran
I love you.
It's hard to put into words how much I appreciate not only what you do on a daily basis, but what you've done. You love your family, your country, and God with all your heart, and for that I'm thankful.
You were willing to put your life on the line for our country before you were even able to buy a beer. You CHOSE to become a soldier and fight for strangers alongside other courageous men who became your brothers, and for that I am thankful.
You saw things no one should ever have to in a foreign country because your love for this country and what it represents overflows in your heart; and for that, I am thankful.
A part of your heart and soul will always be on those rocky mountains of Afghanistan, and those you served with-and lost-will always have your heart and soul; and for that, I am thankful.
Although it wasn't easy, you opened up about your daily struggles, and trusted me with your feelings and thoughts; and for that I am thankful.
You, like many other veterans, would not even think twice to be back on those mountains and on those front lines because you believe that's where you're meant to be; for that, I am thankful.
You've served this country with your brothers, and now I'm honored to see you continue to serve others every day as your wife. I love you. Thank you.
