This is a great event leading up to Boise pride, and all Treasure Valley teens are invited!

While Boise's official Pride Fest doesn't kick off until June, area LGBT kids and allies have a great event coming up this weekend, Saturday, May 19th. It's the only "Diversity Prom" held in the state of Idaho, and it's the perfect opportunity for kids 14-20 to come out, be themselves, and dance the night away. You'll also get to see an appearance from Alyssa Edwards from RuPaul's Drag Race.

This year the Diversity Prom will take place at the Knitting Factory in downtown Boise, starting at 6:30 p.m. There's food, drinks (non-alcoholic of course), and a ton of good music courtesy of yours truly. Boise Pride describes the event perfectly:

A safe space to add your color to the rainbow.

Tickets are only $10 and are available at the door, or you can purchase yours ahead of time right here.

For all the 21+ crowd that wants to take part, the Diversity Prom after party A Night With Alyssa Edwards kicks off at 11 p.m. at the Knit!
