Canyon Country mosquitoes have tested positive for potential deadly disease.

Several horses across five southern Idaho counties, including Twin Falls, have been sickened by West Nile Virus.

That's not a plane filled with Idahoans heading out on vacation. That's a plane dropping an application to control adult mosquitoes and head off the West Nile Virus.

Mosquitoes are in abundance this year and one of the worst fear associated with an increase of these pesky bugs is West Nile Virus, which has now been discovered in Canyon County.

This is the earliest Idaho has detected the West Nile Virus in more than 10 years.

This virus scares me to death, in fact it can be deadly and often times we don't take it seriously enough. A woman in Ada County has been diagnosed with West Nile Virus.

Mosquitoes can carry the West Nile Virus, and they can infect humans with the disease. Unfortunately, that's exactly what they're doing.

Ada County Officials are warning us to get ready.  An unprecedented amount of mosquitoes will hit us hard because of the prolonged flooding of the Boise River and officials are saying an epidemic most likely will be a reality.
