It's my LEAST favorite holiday of the year. If it's yours too, here's how to survive!!

I Hate Valentines Day. Hate it. I've never had one Valentines Day go right in my entire life. From not having a Valentine to burnt dinners to "romantic" nights gone horribly wrong, to crying uncontrollably in my pillow, they have all been awful in my book. Can you relate? Maybe yours haven't even been that bad, but the holiday seems forced! If you love someone, you just show them and tell them on a regular basis right?! Do we Really need a "Single Awareness Day!" or a "Hey, I'm not in the best marriage/relationship day?!" or a "Just got dumped day!"

Anyway, off my soap box. If you are dreading the holiday this is what I suggest you do.

1. Get your party on at home! Don't go out and face all of those lovebirds, but don't curl up and watch movies that will make you cry either! Turn up the music (no sad songs allowed), break out lots of treats, and booze if its your thing. Move, dance, sing, drink, eat and be merry! You're worth it!

2. Do something for yourself physically. If you're not in a relationship or in a bad relationship, you miss touch. Go get a massage, or a facial, or a pedicure/manicure. Just having that touch will make you feel better, even though you have no desire to make-out with your massage therapist!

3. Buy yourself something new. A piece of jewelry, new underwear, lotion, a new outfit, anything that makes you feel sexy and pretty. It's his loss right?! Repeat after me, "IT'S HIS LOSS!"

4. Buy yourself flowers. I've done this. In fact, I did this very recently. Have no shame. They look pretty and brighten up your home or office space.

5. Turn off all social media! Those "perfect" relationships on Facebook and Instagram do not need to be in your face. Disconnect for 24 hours. I Promise it will do you some good!
