Stuntman Makes It 1600 Feet Across Snake River

It's been forty-two years since Evel Knievel's failed attempt to clear Snake River Canyon near Twin Falls but it's finally been done.

Stuntman Eddie Braun grew up a huge Evel Knievel fan and says this jump is in honor of the best stuntman to ever live.

This jump was originally scheduled for Saturday but the weather was perfect this afternoon so Braun couldn't pass up on giving it a shot.  His Evel Spirit steam powered rocket launched at 3:52 p.m. and reached an estimated 400 mph.  A total of four seconds of air time is all it took to reach the other side, 1600 feet away.
