It's that time of the year! Football and Chili Cook Off's! Check out this one in Star!

This is a new event for the community of Star. The small Idaho town in the "burbs" of Boise is growing, like the rest of the valley, and this Saturday (9/22) they are hosting the first ever Chili Cook Off to create some community bonding and fun!

The event will be held at Hunter's Creek Park (corner of Star Road and Floating Feather). It gets underway at 7am, when the cooks begin working their magic on the beans and meet and their secret formulas to make their chili stand out from the rest.

It's gonna be a full day of family fun, so you may want to round up the kids and check it out, especially if you live on the west end of the valley. There will be beer garden set up, and you can check out the pie eating contest, and...for $5.00, you can sample the chili from the great valley cooks.

It's for a great cause as well, as a portion of the proceeds will be donated by the Star Chamber of Commerce to the Alzheimer’s Association on October 6th at the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park in Meridian.

Fall is amazing in the Treasure Valley. Don't let a great late September Saturday go by and not check out what the valley has to offer. Enjoy!
