You know...there ARE other things to do this weekend besides planning for Monday's solar eclipse.

The solar eclipse that is coming Monday seems to have consumed the nation. Especially in those areas of totality. Motels, hotels, campgrounds and other places to stay have raised their prices and sold out months in advance.

People are looking for ways to make money off the phenomenon in ways that may, or may not be, legal. Gas prices have risen to levels we haven't seen in several months. Restaurants and bars are expecting big weekends...and it goes on and on.

But the eclipse isn't the only thing going on this weekend. For example, you can make a day trip to McCall for the Payette Lakes Fine Art & Craft Fair this weekend. It takes place this Saturday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Gold Glove Park in McCall is the scene for the annual event, which is next to the golf course on Davis Creek. Both days you'll have the opportunity to talk with and purchase art directly from over 65 artists from across the country.  All kinds of unique gifts will be available. Unique log furniture, original paintings, cool metal work, beautiful stained glass, pottery, fiber arts, special inlays, and other one of a kind pieces.

There will also be live music both days, and you'll be able to enjoy a variety of food vendors in the park with a shade covered picnic area.

It's free to the public. You can make the drive to McCall on Saturday and come back on Saturday and watch the eclipse from home far from the madding crowds.
