Silent Auction to Help Idahoans Living with HIV/AIDS

If your sweetheart loves art, you might want to take a peek at Flying M Coffeehouse's 'Valentine for AIDS' silent art auction. According to the Boise Weekly, Flying M in downtown Boise is kicking off their 26th annual event tomorrow (2/07) with artwork, jewelry, and sculptures made from more than 250 artists from the Treasure Valley.

Since this event began in 1993, "nearly half a million dollars to local programs dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness and advocacy." Last year alone, they raised over $27,000!! This year the funds will benefit the Safety Net for AIDS Program (SNAP). This organization gives support to people living with HIV/AIDS by helping them pay for housing, groceries, utilities, and even medical insurance.

There isn't a full list of artists that have been announced...yet. There have been a couple of artists that shared some of the pieces they'll be donating on Instagram. Local painter, Suzanne Lee Chetwood posted an acrylic painting of snow-covered hills called "Snow Love," and Chalice Tattoo Studio owner, Darcy Nutt shared her piece that has a slightly different feel with a dagger through a heart.
