Rich has been doing this radio thing for a long time. He started his career in his hometown of Soda Springs, Idaho at the age of 17. His first job in radio was playing all of the religious programming on Sunday mornings.
“I thought I was going to be playing the hits when I got the job, but instead ended up running shows like “Your Story Hour” and “The Lutheran Hour”. It was a pretty glamorous position! Ha!”
Rich stayed with it though. He’s worked in several different formats including Oldies, Rock, Top 40, Triple A, and of course, Country. His radio career has taken him to cities like Grand Junction, Idaho Falls, Salt Lake City and Phoenix. Eventually he landed back in Boise where he attended college…way back when.
“I actually attended Boise State when the football field was green. When I had the opportunity to come back to Idaho and live and work in Boise, it was an easy career choice. It’s been the right move for me personally and professionally.”
Rich is the Brand Manager for Wow Country 104.3 (which is why he picked up the nickname ‘El Hefe’ from the rest of the Wow team) and is currently on the air every weekday afternoon from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
