Second Person Dead in Canyon County Murder-Suicide

This story absolutely breaks my heart. It took the young life of a 29-year-old woman from Caldwell and now a second person has died.

The shooter has now been identified as 37-year-old Ian Stone. He has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound that occurred after he shot 29-year-old Jaclyn Zabel in the head. The details of what lead to this horrible violence have not been released but records show that Ian Stone had previously been convicted on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge back in 2007. According to KTVB, he was sentenced to a "treatment diversion" program.

I think it's so easy for women to say they would never get into a violent relationship. It's one of those situations that most of us can fortunately never imagine being in, but when you find yourself in it I imagine it's like slowly being caught up in a storm that you can't figure out how to get out of.
