In a proposal that's sure to cause some spirited opinions, the Mountain View School District is considering allowing school staff members to carry guns on campus.  It would make them the second in the state to adopt such a policy since the Garden Valley School District has already done so.

District Board Chairman Mike Dominquez explains that the reason behind considering such a policy is because the district simply can't afford to pay school resource officers for all 6 of their campuses.  The cities in which these campuses are located include Grangeville, Kooskia and Elk City.

According to the proposal, the policy would allow staff members the option to carry weapons concealed or to keep them locked in a locker.
