Roadkill Salvage Law is in Effect in Boise

Eating dead animals off the streets of Boise is now legal!

I'm hoping I don't see people swerving to hit deer and squirrels on Chinden but... ya never know.  Truth is, this law's been around awhile and a few different states take part in it.  It's called the Roadkill Salvage Law.  It's designed to cut back on good meat going bad.

Most of us wouldn't know what to do with an Elk that passed on because he jumped in front of a mack truck going 60, but some of us, mostly those confident with hunting and fishing feel confident and comfortable enough to take that baby home and not let it go to waste.

Animals I'd prefer you keep off your take home list...

• Dogs
• Rats
