Rick and I floated the the Boise River for the first time ever yesterday and we had a few mishaps, but man did we have a great time!

I have been begging Rick to float the river with me for an entire year now. We finally did the big float and I can't wait to go back!

We dropped Rick's car off at Ann Morrison Park (and ran into trouble with this later.. so keep reading so you don't do what we did). Then we drove my car to Barber Park and rented a 4 man raft. There was just the two of us, but it was so nice having a bigger raft to relax in. I'd highly recommend the 4 man even if there is only two of you. They also rent out tubes and 6 man rafts, so it's super convenient.

As we ventured out I thought this is so easy and relaxing! For the most part it is. I'd feel confident taking my kids by myself, but it can't get a little hairy in a few spots!

You go down several little rapids along the way, which was no big deal, but we struggled staying out to the trees along the way!

Towards the end we ran smack into a bunch of tree branches and as I ducked to get underneath them, somehow I ended up doing a back flip off the back of the raft and went completely in the water!

All I remember is I was in the water fast! Water was going up my nose, my life flashed before my eyes, and then Rick saved me and pulled me back into raft! Honestly, it ended up being my favorite part of the whole adventure!

Word to the wise, do not do what we did in the end. Rick left his car keys in my car which was parked at Barber Park and when we ended at Ann Morrison Park, no keys to drive the car back! Luckily they have shuttles that come every hour for $3/person and it all worked out!

I swear floating the Boise River has been my favorite Treasure Valley Experience so far! If you haven't floated (and we spoke with a woman who has lived here 7 years now and still hasn't) you are missing out!!
