When looking back on high school, I’m sure none of us could imagine spending our prom in the hospital. However, St. Jude is trying to remind kids that despite their illness, they still have something to celebrate.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is helping teenagers find a sense of normalcy, by creating a formal that allows patients and their siblings, ages 13 to 19, to dance the night away. Through generous donations from St. Jude staff and many local businesses, this glamorous evening, complete with red carpet, limousines, prom pictures, formal wear, and makeovers, is an unforgettable night for young adults at St. Jude.

St. Jude is proud to support patients in their special events, but recognizes that it can never really replace the traditional experience. In an Interview with Promise, St. Judes Magazine, Austin Otey states “As wonderful as St. Jude is, it can never truly give back what I and my peers here have lost. But by the same token, St. Jude has found a way to provide us with at least a substitute. The St. Jude prom gives us the chance to both feel like regular teenagers again and to celebrate our battle here.”

With your donations, St. Jude can find cures to help more teenagers celebrate prom outside the hospital. Please call 1-800-372-4999 to help create miracles.
