The Boise Hawks are ready to play ball! Here's their opening day roster! There are nine former Hawks on the squad this season! Welcome back!

The 2017 Northwest League season starts soon and the Hawks are looking forward to the challenge! The team announced their roster for opening day, with nine former players back in the Treasure Valley to start the season.

The Boise Hawks report: Pitcher Michael Bunal, Justin Calomeni, Kyle Cedotal, Rico Garcia, Breiling Eusebio, Austin Moore, George Thanopoulous; Catcher Will Haynie; and Outfielder Steve Linkous are all returning after spending time with the Hawks last season.

Steve Linkous returns to the Boise Hawks lineup in 2017 after playing 56 games with the team last season. Linkous was a mainstay in the Hawks outfield last year as the 2016 draft pick hitting .253 with 23 RBI. Also, he swiped 30 bases with Boise last year.

This will be Justin Calomeni’s second season with Boise as he comes back after a successful 2016 campaign with the Hawks. Calomeni found a home in the Hawks bullpen last year while finishing with a 2-1 record and 2.33 ERA. The San Jose, CA, native struck out 25 batters in 19.1 innings of work.

Rounding out the team are Pitchers Luis Guzman, Ryan Luna, Keinter Olivares, Juan Pena, Cristian Quintin, John Valek, and Ethan Westphal. Along with Haynie, Christian Correa and Sam Tidaback will do the catching. Also, Infielders Connor Hale, Ryan Metzler, Jonathan Piron, Jose Rodriguez, Avery Romero and Bobby Wernes are on the team. Lastly, Outfielders Cole Anderson, Ben Johnson and JB Moss have reported to Boise.
