Planting a Potato in Idaho is Illegal?!

Well, that's ironic.

According to master gardener, Debbie Courson, it is illegal to plant a potato in your yard IF that potato came from the store. The reason: "Tubers sold for human food do not carry the required certifications."

Phew, that was a close one. I was beginning to think that there could be no bigger irony than that.

Here's what you have to do...purchase a potato seed from garden centers, retail outlets, or mail order them, then follow the instructions FOUND HERE. And viola, you've got spuds and you won't be arrested!
