One person is dead this Father's Day morning after a plane crash in Payette.

These situations usually don't end well. It's a sight that Payette resident Kenneth Lisby says he won't soon forget.

He was doing yard work with his wife at about 11:40 yesterday morning when they saw the plane circle around and his wife recognized there was something not quite right with the plane.

According to KTVB, they watched two pieces fall out of the sky, the plane sputtered a bit, and then disappeared.

The crash happened near the airport in Payette at N.E. 19th Avenue between Payette Heights and Scotchpines Road.

The name of the victim has not been released as authorities investigate and the Federal Aviation Administration will work to determine what went wrong.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this terrible accident.
