Paddleboarding has become one of my new favorite things to do in the summertime, but apparently there are certain rules you have to follow here in Boise!

Paddleboarders can be fined or ticketed if your paddleboard doesn't meet the states boating and safety requirements.

It's a $99 fine if you don't have the proper safety equipment on board which include a life jacket and a whistle, plus Idaho life jacket rules say you have to be wearing a life jacket if you are 14 or younger and you are riding a paddleboard that is 19 feet or less. In Addition, if you don't have an Invasive Species Sticker on your board you can be fined $72! You can purchase an Invasive Species Sticker at these locations. From sundown to sunrise you must also have navigation lights.

Paddleboarders can also be arrested if you are caught paddleboarding while under the influence of drugs or alcohol!

Let's keep it safe on the water and avoid those fines!!
