The request lines were flooded with calls this morning about how bad the traffic was in the Caldwell area even though it seemed as if the weather wasn't too bad and road conditions were somewhat good.  All that backed up traffic was most likely the result of a tragic accident that took place between the Sand Hollow and Black Canyon exits a little after 9 a.m.

According to KTVB, Caldwell Police are not sure yet if road conditions played a role in this deadly crash that took the life of 63-year-old Kenneth Adams and has 58-year-old Deborah Adams in the hospital.  Both occupants had their seatbelts on while driving east in their Ford Explorer when for some reason Kenneth lost control, slid into the median and oncoming traffic headed west, rolled over, and finally coming to a halt on the right shoulder.

I'm actually shocked we haven't had more of this with such slick conditions lately and with how BAD some of the drivers in the Boise area are.  We've had a lot of accidents over the past few days but none as deadly as this one.

Kenneth did not make it but his wife was quickly transported by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise where she is being attended to.  At this point, we have no idea how serious her injuries are.  It's another situation where all we can do is sit back and pray for this woman and pray for their family.

Traffic was blocked on the westbound side of I-84 for around two hours.  The accident has been completely cleared out with traffic running smoothly now.
