A new bill would get rid of tax on groceries here in the Gem State! Here's the details. Do you agree?

The proposed legislation would eliminate sales tax on food, but much like food stamps it would only eliminate sales tax on the more "essential foods" like milk or a sack of potatoes, while a case of soda or hot food from the deli would still have sales tax applied.

Those in support of the bill say it would have a big effect on the economy, especially in towns like Weiser and Fruitland that border Oregon where there is no sales tax.

According to KTVB, the proposal has been submitted to the House Revenue and Taxation Commitee. We'll see hoe it goes. No tax on most foods? I'm not complaining!
