We're one of the biggest biking cities in the country, so should more bike lanes be added to the downtown Boise area?Bicycling.com ranks us #32 of all the cities in the country as being one of the most bike friendly cities. There's no doubt that the greenbelt is an open invitation to hop on your bike and go for a ride, but many people don't just leisurely bike, they commute to work by bicycle and it's creating a bit of a controversy downtown.

Last night the public discussed the matter at City Hall. The Ada County Highway District has thrown out 4 different options.

Option #1 puts a bike lane on Jefferson and is a "no-build" option

The other 3 options are different forms of bike lanes added to Main St. and Idaho St.

Option #2 would have a painted buffer between one of the traffic lanes and on-street parking.

Option #3 a bike lane protected by a row of plastic pylons

Option #4 moving on-street parking between the new bike lane and traffic lanes

What do you think should be done?
