Not sure when the last Albertsons popped up but the folks around Barber Valley in East Boise are about to get a whole new grocery store.

We're all creatures of habit.  What we do, the food we eat, the people we hang out with, and yes, where we shop.  My place has always been Albertsons.  I'm not exactly sure why.  Its almost always the same set up so I pretty much know what's where, it has that inviting little blue and white logo that makes me feel comfortable I guess.  Who knows.  But that's the way it is for me.

Good for me because now I have one more place to do my shopping.  Its not just a grocery store.  They're putting in a gas station as well.  Albertson will be "the store" that kind of quarter backs the entire Barber Station retail center on the corner of Parkcenter Blvd and East Warm Springs Avenue.

Now its not 100% yet but things are looking very good.  Albertsons just submitted an application for the 11 acre lot.  They will share that lot with 7 other tenants that could be anything from banks to beauty salons.

If everything goes well Albertson will sit adjacent to the Greenbelt and Walling Creek.  There'll be a grassy area where a farmer's market will sit.  We'll keep you posted on how this project is going.  In related news... a new Albertsons will be built in an adjacent lot to the Broadway store next to Boise State starting this Spring.  It'll take a good year to get this done.  The old Albertsons will be demolished when the new one is ready to go.
