Once home to one of our sister stations (KFXD), this historical building in Nampa is being transformed into a radio and television broadcasting museum.

According to KIVI, The History of Idaho Broadcasting Foundation announced the purchase of the building at 1024 12th Avenue South; which will not only be made into a museum but also an education center.

“It has always been our mission to build a permanent and living repository for the preservation of the history of radio and television broadcasting within the State of Idaho,”

Now it close to becoming a reality. According to the article, organizers were able to get temporary funding to make the down payment on the building, and hope to have the funding completed early this year.

This is really exciting news for people who want to get into the industry, because the center will be  "providing a training facility for future radio and television broadcasters."

HOW AWESOME IS THAT!

There's no word yet on when the center will open, but if you'd like to be a part of it, you can donate by contacting the Idaho Broadcasting Foundation, Inc. office at 208-853-7756 or e-mail the organization at HIBF@Q.com.
